Nearby bodies of water and Landforms in the City of Guelph
The City of Guelph is not located near any major bodies of water. This is a problem because Guelph mainly has to rely on ground water for all their water needs, including residential, industrial, institutional and municipal use. Ground water is not an endless supply of water. Municipality water sources has 18 urban supply wells and water from the Arkell Spring Grounds which is located outside of the City of Guelph. The groundwater source leaves the City at risk of drought, because the City is growing in population which puts the people at risk of having water shortages.
The City of Guelph's landforms region is the Arkell Spring Ground mentioned above. It is the main source of water in the city.
